Virtual Reality Treatment and Research Lab
_edited.jpg)
This study examined the potential of a visuo-spatial task at disrupting the consolidation of traumatic memories, and therefore lowering rates of PTSD. The study administers a visual spatial Virtual Reality task (SnowWorld) to recent trauma survivors in the Emergency Room, and compares PTSD and symptom development in these patients as compared to a control group who did not carry out the task. The study hypothesizes that the task will result in lower rates of PTSD, lower levels of intrusions, dissociation and pain at follow up.
